Job Description

Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a well-established litigation firm to identify a Legal Secretary/Paralegal to support attorneys in their San Francisco office. This full-time role provides essential administrative and legal support across active litigation matters. It is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong California litigation experience who can manage competing priorities, maintain excellent organization, and support attorneys in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Legal Document Support

Draft, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, discovery, contracts, correspondence, and memos.
Prepare and file legal documents with California courts, including proficiency with e-filing requirements.
Conduct legal research and prepare summaries or reports as needed.

Case and File Management

Manage and organize case files in both electronic and paper formats.
Track deadlines, court dates, and billing hours for assigned attorneys.

Scheduling and Calendar Management

Maintain attorney calendars and schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.

Client and Court Communication

Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.

Trial Preparation

Assist with trial preparation including exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.

General Administrative Support

Perform administrative duties such as scanning, filing, and providing phone support.

Qualifications

Minimum three years of experience as a legal secretary or paralegal, with California litigation experience preferred.
Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program strongly preferred.
Familiarity with California Rules of Court and local court procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and legal practice management software such as Clio or ProLaw.
Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional demeanor and strong sense of confidentiality.
